Agricultural Irrigation Solar Systems
It is the simultaneous use of agricultural lands for both solar photovoltaic energy production and agriculture. Since solar panels and agricultural crops coexist, there is a sharing of light between these two types of production. The design of the facilities is carried out to balance crop yield and electricity production.
The use of PV systems in agricultural areas with irrigation is called Agricultural Irrigation SPP systems. It is generally achieved by operating or supporting pumps, which are operated to draw water from underground water resources, with solar energy systems. Otherwise, the pumps in these areas are generally operated with diesel generators.
Advantages of Agricultural Solar Systems;
1) It eliminates the need to convert agricultural lands into solar power plants to produce electrical energy.
2) As a result of using the used soil for different purposes, the profit received from the land and land increases.
3) In places where the electricity network does not reach, wells are used. It can enable agriculture by ensuring water withdrawal. It also reduces fossil fuel use at these points.
